A lot of health food stores sell energy balls these days and they can be quite expensive. So easy to make your own but it does require a food processor. Here’s a delicious recipe I’ve developed, try one before exercising for a natural lift, no sugar added!
Ingredients
1 cup mixed nuts I used a combination of almonds, cashews, peanuts and walnuts but really any nut works.
12-14 dates soaked in warm water for 30 mins pit removed
1 tsp coconut oil
2 tbs peanut butter, I prefer natural unsweetened type
1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
2-3 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder depending on how chocolatey you prefer
Place the nuts in the food processor and pulse till chopped semi-fine. Then add the dates, coconut oil, cocoa powder, peanut butter and pulse to incorporate then lastly add the shredded coconut and pulse till it’s combined. The mixture should be slightly sticky I use about a healing tbs to form a ball, recipe should yield about 12-14. Place them in a freezer for 2 hours then store them in your fridge and enjoy!
