The Transformative Power of Meditation
Meditation is powerful tool especially during difficult times of global upheaval. I practice Transcendental Meditation. It's an ancient technique which began thousands of years ago in India and brought to the west by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the late 1950's. I meditate for 20 minutes, twice a day, in the morning and late afternoon/early evening. The benefits of regular practice of meditation are incredible: reduce stress/anxiety, clarity of mind, increased focus, sensitivity and bliss and real biological benefits: deeper rest, better sleep, slowing down the aging process, strengthening the immune system. I don't think I'd have survived this pandemic without my practice, it's truly a wondrous gift. All types of meditation are beneficial to the mind and body but I find TM in combination with healthy living and Ayurveda to be truly transformative. While I'm not a TM teacher I can recommend the best teachers here in Los Angeles who can also refer you to a TM teacher throughout the world since it's a global practice.
