A successful garden is a lot like the relationships we have with people, it‘s all about harmonious coexistence. Certain plants do well with others. I try to organize my plants by their needs and relationship to each other for optimal growth. Key factors are sunlight/shade and water requirements. I find low water plants harmonize well together, these include cacti, succulents, agave and bromeliads. Layering is also important try to vary the colors, textures and height for maximum effect.
