Expanding Kindness

This past week we celebrated world kindness day but I believe kindness should be expressed on a daily basis to create a more harmonious society. By being kind you are not only influencing the receiver, the giver of kindness experiences positive benefits as well. Science has proven that increases of the so-called “feel good hormones“ serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin are increased when we share kindness. Here are 10 simple ways to express kindness.


Give someone a genuine compliment.

Hold the door open for someone.

Let an older person go ahead of you in line, give up your seat on a train or bus.

Listen to someone having a problem without judgement, just support.

Ask someone who’s serving you how their day is going.

Volunteer at a food bank.

Let a car merge in front of you in traffic.

Pay for someone’s coffee/tea behind you at a coffee shop.

Offer to help someone carrying heavy bags

Smile and say hello to people walking past you
