Adopting Mindfulness in Our Lives.
There’s been a lot of focus on mindfulness lately but what does it mean to be mindful? I try to practice mindfulness every day to enhance my life and give it a sense of calm and purpose. In conjunction with a healthy lifestyle and meditation, mindfulness is another powerful tool to keep ourselves healthy and happy. Here are some mindfulness practices to try:
Take a walk outside, breathe deeply, experience the beauty of nature. It calms the mind and increases creativity.
Stay present and in the moment. Don‘t focus on the past or feel anxious about the uncertainty of the future, live and enjoy each precious moment of your life.
Create something, anything. When you’re creating something you’re forced to be in the moment since you’re focused on the creation.
Disconnect from your phone. Take time to disconnect from technology to experience yourself in the actual moment as opposed to tech experiences.
Don’t multitask. Yes it’s a busy world and we all have to multitask at times but take some time to be away from multi tasking to let your body just be.
Have fun, everyday...do at least one thing a day that gives you joy or you consider fun, it gives the body a chance to experience happiness on a daily basis.
Appreciate the small stuff and don’t take things for granted. Being mindful means we enjoy life’s pleasures even the smallest ones and being grateful for the gifts we’ve been given.
Be kind to yourself and to others. Don’t beat yourself up over past actions live in the moment and share a small act of kindness every day.
